Yes, Silencio is legit, and they do reward you for your voice uploads. However, it is not straightforward as saying words into a microphone and receiving a small payment, and it may not be suitable for someone wanting an immediate source of side income.
I tried Silencio Voice AI and the partner app, SilencioAI to get a hands-on understanding of how it works.

What is Silencio?
Silencio is a network of companies, websites, and apps, that focus on AI training using voice data and collection of noise levels around the world.
This article will concentrate on the side which is most important to you, uploading data and getting rewarded. With that in mind, Silencio consists of:
- The website – https://ai.silencio.store/
- The app (iOS and Android) – https://www.silencio.network/app
What does the Silencio website do?
The Silencio website lets you record voice samples as scripted monologues, one and two word to read, or as freeform monologues.
What does the Silencio app do?
The Silencio app records noise levels via your phone’s microphone, and marks the result on a map. As more users record more data, it builds an increasingly robust map of loudness around the world.
How does Silencio pay?
This is where it gets complicated. Silencio pays in three ways:
- In-app coins/raffle tickets – As you complete eligible activities such as uploading voice data on the Silencio website, recording noise data on the Silencio app, recording noise data in new locations, or checking into venues, you will get rewarded via in-app coins (sometimes called raffle tickets).
- $SLC – Silencio runs daily raffles and monthly “Deep Luck” raffles. The rewards from these raffles are exclusively in $SLC, a cryptocurrency established by Silencio.
- USDC – When your voice data is purchased from Silencio by an external client, your portion of the payment will arrive via USDC, another crypocurrency pegged to the US Dollar.
Will a task pay in in-app coins, $SLC, or USDC?
Many people get tripped up here, so don’t feel bad if its not immediately clear.
Virtually everything you do via the Silencio app will be paid to you via in-app coins.
Virtually all prizes received from any of the raffles on the Silencio app or website will be paid to you by $SLC.
The only way to get USDC is to keep uploading voice data and hope that it is purchased by an external client.
How do I tell if a language is eligible for USDC payments?
Not all languages are eligible for USDC payments.
Here is an example from my dashboard:

Here you can see that I am eligible to receive 10x bonus in-app coins for Russin uploads, 10x bonuses for English, and 20x bonuses for an English accent. You can also see that only the English uploads show USDC payments, with a claimed rate of up to 10 USDC for an hour of uploaded voice data.
After messing around with a small number of uploads, here are my stats:
What can you do with $SLC?
There are two(ish) main ways to use $SLC:
- Convert it. $SLC can be exchanged for other coins or sold for your choice of currency. It not worth a lot at the moment, so you may need to save up to make it worth your while. I have not tested it personally, but Silencio’s own information claims that it supports transfers of $SLC to five different exchanges, or directly to “peaq supported EVM Wallet”.
- Hold it. Silencio actively encourages users to hold $SLC by:
- Staking – You can lock up your $SLC for pre-set periods of time in the Silencio app to increase the bonuses that your get on your raffle payout. There are bonuses for how much you have staked at the moment, and how much $SLC you have held in the last 12 months.
- Depositing – You can increase your “level” on the Silencio website to increase your earnings bonuses and to access higher priority queues for validation and client review. The thresholds for to reach higher levels range from a few cents to $250 worth of $SLC.
Are there withdrawal minimums?
I have not yet received any USDC payments, so have not been able to test that. But I have not yet found any explicit mention of minimums.
$SLC receive from raffles may have a cooling off period, and $SLC transfers may have a fee (e.g. transferring directly to peaq wallet appears to cost $SLC 1000.
How many people are on Silencio?
Based on numbers of people across each Silencio level, there were 17,981 users on 5 March 2026.
Based on a dashboard in the Silencio app, there are 1.4 million registered users, with a total of 78.8 million uploads, or 13.4 million hours of uploaded noise data.
Should you join Silencio?
If you have the time, and you have the patience to invest into a system with an app, and a website, and two types of crypto, and potential value growth into the future, then yes, Silencio could be for you. Admittedly, Silencio is best satiated for people comfortable int eh crypto space, and who are willing to dive deep into the ecosystem and face uncertainty on the potential of greater returns in the future.
